2010 NATIONAL REHABILITATION AWARENESS WEEK
Every year in the third week of September we get an opportunity as rehabilitation provider to show case what we do. This Nationally recognized week is celebrated throughout the United States. Many people are unaware of what acute rehabilitation is until they find themselves in need of it. There are over 50 million Americans afflicted with a disability each year.
Our goal is to educate people about the benefits and the impact of acute rehabilitation. Rehabilitation helps people live up to their fullest potential and reclaim their lives.
The word “rehabilitation” is used very broadly throughout our community.
Rehabilitation means:
To restore to good health or useful life, as through therapy and education.
We encourage and educate patients and their families to ask questions regarding each facility they may be considering for their recovery. “Rehabilitation” is provided at various levels depending on licensure.
